As "owners", credit union members are represented by a group of Volunteers who are elected to the Board of Directors. The Board also appoints other Volunteers to serve on the Supervisory Committee or other ad-hoc committees. The Volunteers are made up of members in good standing who are willing to commit their time, talent, and expertise to the credit union and its philosophy of "people helping people".
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of People's Trust Federal Credit Union has general direction and control of the affairs of the credit union and is responsible for performing all the duties customary to a board of directors. Board meetings take place once per month. Committee meetings may occur more often.
The Supervisory Committee is appointed by the Board of Directors and serves as an audit committee for the credit union's membership. The two responsibilities of the Supervisory Committee are to ensure:
- Management's financial reporting objectives have been met.
- Management practices and procedures safeguard members' assets.
