To inquire about any of the above, please call Linda Birt, Executive Director, at 713.428.3255.
The focus of the event is financial education, aimed at teaching students key to take control of their money. By exposing them to money management skills, the graduating seniors will have the tools necessary to make sound financial decisions in the future. After the main event on financial literacy, local businesses and universities hold smaller sessions on higher education, etiquette, career development, and beauty. Once finished with all of the sessions, each participant is able to pick out a prom dress, complete with accessories, to wear to their prom. Young men receive gift certificates for their tuxedo rental.
History of A Night To Remember
In April of 2005, People's Trust held its first annual "A Night To Remember," event in celebration of financial literacy month. Held every April in honor of financial literacy month, A Night To Remember focuses on teaching financial education to high school seniors. At this event, high school students from disadvantaged families who would not normally be able to attend their high school prom because of its high expense, get an opportunity to learn about financial literacy and take home a prom dress or a gift certificate for a tuxedo.
"A Night To Remember" would not be possible without our sponsors including The Texas Credit Union Foundation, The Greensheet Education Foundation, and many more.
