About People's Trust Foundation
People's Trust Foundation was established by People's Trust Federal Credit Union in late 2006 and rolled out to the public in early 2008 as a charitable organization to advance economic independence for Houstonians through financial education and to award grants to people whose only barrier to home ownership is a down payment.
Our mission: To advance financial literacy and economic independence among Houstonians.
The Foundation funds financial education workshops and seminars across Houston to educate individuals on basic money management skills. Volunteers from the foundation and credit union employees teach the financial literacy program regularly for organizations such as:
- Houston Area Women's Center
- Downtown YMCA
- Multiple Houston schools
- Other Programs

The Foundation also makes down payment assistance grants to deserving families to help them purchase their first house. This helps modest income families, who could not otherwise afford to make a down payment on a house, buy a house and grow equity rather than continuously renting.
