September 5th Fraud Alert

We have been made aware of "phishing" attempts utilizing text messaging. The recent attempts are sent from a non-U.S. phone number. The message attempts to have convince the recipient that an error has occurred with their home banking access and directs the recipient to call a phone number.

These text messages are not specifically targeted to People's Trust members, but for your safety, contact People's Trust if you are presented with an unfamiliar phone number via a text message, e-mail, or mailing.

If you believe you may have responded to any suspected e-mail or text message phishing scam, please contact People's Trust immediately at 713.428.3200 or 800.321.2411.

As a reminder, People's Trust never requests personal identification information over the phone or online via an unsolicited e-mail, fax, or text message. If you are unsure of the authenticity of an electronic message, do not reply or otherwise provide any information.
