Housing Disaster Relief Grant Program
In response to damage caused by Hurricane Ike, People’s Trust Federal Credit Union and the Housing Disaster Relief Grant program (HDRG) are making available $250,000 to assist income-qualified households with the purchase, rehabilitation or reconstruction of owner-occupied housing.
To qualify for an HDRG grant, a hurricane-affected household must meet specific requirements as determined by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas:
- Household must reside in a county designated for Individual Assistance by FEMA as a result of Hurricane Ike
- Total household income must be below 120% of AMI (designated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development)
- Must provide identity information and complete income documentation for all household members
- Must provide written invoices for completed rehabilitation or reconstruction work or signed cost estimates for work to be completed or a signed HUD-1 form specifying closing costs and down payment.
Applications will be accepted beginning October 8 and funds will be available on a first come/first serve basis until all funds are exhausted. Incomplete applications will not be submitted for grant approval.
