People's Trust Employee Recognized as Pioneer Award Winner
Linda Birt, Corporate Outreach Director of People's Trust, was recognized on November 9th by the Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) as one of their 2010 Pioneer Award winners.

Ms. Birt has consistently served the Houston AEI as an active member since its inception in 2007. In October 2008, the AEI asked for volunteers to step forward to chair the Financial Products and Services Committee, and Linda graciously volunteered. Since accepting the position, she and her Co-Chairs have made large strides in move the committee forward – specifically the Direct Deposit project and the “Resource Guide on Alternative Financial Products and Services.”
In addition to her work with the Financial Products and Services Committee, Linda has been an active supporter of the Money Week Houston project, organizing a number of financial literacy seminars during the weeklong event.
In her own right, Ms. Birt is a financial literacy dynamo – spearheading several important outreach events in Houston. Just to name a few – A Night to Remember, Teen Financial Camp, and the recently completed Empowerment Fair in partnership with the D-Spot.
The Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) is the FDIC's national initiative to establish community-based organizations and other partners in several markets across the country to bring all unbanked and underserved populations into the financial mainstream and expanded financial education efforts.
