Patricia Longoria Garcia
Patricia Longoria Garcia, Executive Vice President of People’s Trust and CEO of Signal Hill Financial passed away peacefully in her home, last Friday, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Patricia came into the financial business in 1994 as a financial advisor with Lincoln Financial Advisors. From 1994 to 1998, she worked with the top 3 advisors in the Houston area, to develop and service over 1500 clients with over $75 million dollars in assets. Prior to 1994, she was Vice President at Worldwide Insurance Services, which filed medical insurance claims for hospitals and doctors worldwide.
In 1998, she moved her investment business to downtown Houston, and began to work with Shell Employees Federal Credit Union as a third party advisor to credit union members. From 1998 to 2001, she built a business with more than 200 credit union members and over $40 million dollars in assets. At that time, she worked with the leadership of the credit union to bring the investment business into the credit union which eventually resulted in the birth of Signal Hill.
Pat strongly believed that our existence was dependent on providing superb member service. During her tenure at People’s Trust, Pat was instrumental in the process of expanding the field of membership to residents within the city of Houston, which also involved a name change to reflect the growing membership (People’s Trust from Shell Employees). Other accomplishments at the credit union include the launch of the Happy Un-Banking campaign that is still used today, the creation of the Virtual Branch, --our one stop member service center, and the building of the first stand-alone branch located in the Galleria area.
Outgoing, exuberant, ambitious and steadfast in her faith, Patricia will be remembered for her outstanding service to People’s Trust, Signal Hill, and the community, as well as for her deep love for her family.
